Dr. Clarissa Kuhns is a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology in the state of Texas. She received her Bachelor’s and Ph.D. at Texas A&M University in College Station. She currently has contracts working with United and Laredo Independent School Districts, Headstart, and Webb County Juvenile Department. She also works as adjunct faculty at Texas A&M International University, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses.
Dr. Kuhns uses a collaborative approach in working with children and adolescents in order to make long lasting changes in their outlook on life. She often spends her time working with parents in order to improve their children’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
With adults, Dr. Kuhns mostly employs Cognitive Behavioral techniques to change people’s self destructive thinking or behavior patterns in order to help them improve their life. Sessions are problem-focused and goal-oriented, keeping the client involved and active in their improvement.
